NATACHA NISIC

Born in 1967 in Grenoble, she studied art at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, and film at the Deutsche Film und Fernseh in Berlin and at La Fémis. Her work straddles various media, including Super 8, film, video, and photography. She has held numerous exhibitions in France—at Printemps de Cahors and the Centre National de la Photographie—as well as abroad in Japan, Germany, and Canada. Her exploration of the relationship between documentary and fiction led her to create a work for the Shoah Memorial in Paris, as well as the exhibition “Effroi” at the Zadkine Museum in Paris. She has received numerous grants, including the Stipendium für Kultur und Forschung in Berlin and the Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto. She was an artist-in-residence at the Académie de France in Rome (Villa Medici) until March 2008.
