Villa Medici regularly hosts film shoots and private events of all kinds (conferences, congresses, weddings, photo shoots, cocktail parties, dinners, etc.).


A Renaissance palace with 7 hectares of gardens and a panoramic view of Rome, Villa Medici offers an exclusive setting for entertaining guests or organizing photo shoots.

Villa Medici features a variety of spaces suitable for both large-scale scenographies and more intimate settings: reception rooms, large galleries, a cinema room, a loggia, a terrace with a view, gardens, and more.

What is the maximum capacity of rental spaces for private events at Villa Medici?

Villa Medici is available for outdoor events of up to 400 people. Many of Villa Medici’s indoor spaces, however, have a smaller capacity.

Is it possible to choose the service providers who will be involved in the rental of a private event?

Yes, you can choose the service providers you wish to work with. However, they must be approved by Villa Medici. To facilitate the organization of your private event, Villa Medici can provide a list of approved service providers.

Is it possible to rent the entire Villa Medici for a private event?

No, it is not possible to rent the entire Villa Medici for a private event; only certain areas are available for hire. The Villa Medici is first and foremost a place of public service: a heritage site open to visitors, an artists’ residence and a center for contemporary art. The artists and researchers who live and work at Villa Medici must be able to move around its spaces without constraint. Villa Medici staff are also present on site on working days. The private event must be compatible with the constraints and activities of the site, and with the technical requirements linked to it. Each request must be specifically approved by Villa Medici management.

How can I rent space for a private event at Villa Medici?

Your request will be examined in the light of the characteristics of your project and the availability of space at Villa Medici.

Is it possible to hold a wedding at Villa Medici?

Is it possible to rent a space at Villa Medici for any type of private event?

It is possible to rent a space at Villa Medici for the following private events: weddings, conferences, dinners, photo shoots, etc.

Each request will be examined on the basis of the characteristics of the project and the availability of space at Villa Medici, and will be subject to specific approval by Villa Medici management.

Villa Medici welcomes all types of film shoots: feature films, television dramas, documentaries and commercials. However, each request must be specifically approved by Villa Medici management.
