Biography

A graduate of ENS Louis Lumière and Doctor of Fine Arts (Paris I), Stéphanie Solinas (1978) has developed a multi-faceted body of work, at the crossroads of photography, book and installation. Her practice questions the very operation of “seeing” and its limits, pushing ever further the boundaries of her medium.
Her work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at Rencontres d’Arles, Musée Carré d’Art de Nîmes, Fraenkel LAB (San Francisco), FOAM FOtografie museum of Amsterdam, Musée National Eugène-Delacroix in Paris, La Maison Rouge, Société Française de Photographie, Église Saint-Eustache (Mois de la Photo), etc. His work can be found in international collections: Centre National des Arts Plastiques, Bibliothèque Nationale de France, CNAC Georges Pompidou/Bibliothèque Kandinsky, Fonds Régional d’Art Contemporain PACA, Musée Nicéphore Niepce, Musée de L’Elysée in Lausanne, Pier 24 Photography in San Francisco, as well as in several private collections. Stéphanie Solinas has published Dominique Lambert (2010/2016), Sans titre (Monsieur Bertillon) (2012) and Déserteurs (2013).
