Born in 1980 in Marseille, France.
Pauline Curnier Jardin is a visual artist, filmmaker and performer who lives and works between Amsterdam and Berlin.
His work travels through solo and group exhibitions, is commissioned and screened in various institutions internationally (such as 1646, The Hague; Cobra Museum of Modern Art, Amsterdam; 57th Venice Biennale; Tate Modern, London; International Film Festival, Rotterdam; Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt; Performa 15, New York; Migros Museum of Contemporary Art, Zurich; MIT List Visual Arts Center, Cambridge; Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin; ZKM Museum of Contemporary Art, Karlsruhe) as well as in France with La Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, Palais de Tokyo and Centre George Pompidou, Paris.
Her work will soon be presented as part of MOMENTUM, Biennale in Moss, at the Bergen Assembly in Norway and at the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin.
Pauline Curnier Jardin benefited from a residency at the Rijksakademie Van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam between 2015 and 2016. She won the Dutch NN Group Art Award and was selected for the 19th Prix Fondation d’entreprise Ricard pour l’art contemporain.
In 2017-2018, she is a tutor at the Dutch Art Institute and visiting professor at the Kassel Kunsthochschule.
Pauline Curnier Jardin is one of the nominees for the Preis der Nationalgalerie 2019, the award for artists working in Germany. She is currently writing her first feature film
Each year, the French Academy in Rome - Villa Medici organizes an international competition to select fellows who will be welcomed at the Villa Medici in Rome for a 12-month residency in creation, experimentation and research (residency begins in September, ends in August).
