Painting
Louise Sartor was born in Paris in 1988. She studied scenography at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris (ENSAD), graduating in 2012. She obtained a second Master’s degree at L’École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2015. She has also been a member of several collectives organizing exhibitions, conferences and publications.
She currently lives and works in Canet-en-Roussillon. Her work was the subject of a solo exhibition in 2017 at Galerie Crèvecoeur in Paris, and in 2018 at Galerie Belami in Los Angeles. In addition, she has taken part in numerous group shows in France, such as the “Voyage d’Hiver” exhibition at the Château de Versailles in 2017, and abroad (USA, Korea, UK…). Her most recent project is a solo presentation by Crèvecœur gallery at the Art Basel Hong-Kong fair in March 2019.
Each year, the French Academy in Rome - Villa Medici organizes an international competition to select fellows who will be welcomed at the Villa Medici in Rome for a 12-month residency in creation, experimentation and research (residency begins in September, ends in August).
