Biography

François Olislaeger is a Franco-Belgian cartoonist and comic strip artist. A graduate of the Émile Cohl school in Lyon, he became a press cartoonist (Le Monde, Libération, Les inrockuptibles…) and regularly publishes cartoon reports, notably“Un autre monde est possible“, with Pierre Cattan, a report on Venezuela with the Attac movement. After seven years reporting on the Festival d’Avignon, he publishes Carnets d’Avignon, a memoir of contemporary theater. He also met Mathilde Monnier, with whom he began a stage and biographical project in the book Mathilde: danser après tout. His bibliography also includes the biography Marcel Duchamp, un petit jeu entre moi et je , published by Actes Sud. He has also participated in exhibitions at the Biennale d’Arts Contemporains du Havre, the Cité de l’Architecture and the Gaité Lyrique. He lives and works between Paris and Mexico City.

Project: writing work around the creation of an autobiographical comic strip, as well as painting. Large-scale painting on the theme of volcanoes, stone, lava, minerals and Pompeii. Work on the end of a civilization in relation to nature. Think Nature through painting and human nature through autobiography.
