Profession: Visual artist Stephen Dean was born in 1968 in Paris. Guest artist from April 2009 to April 2010. ”
Stephen Dean not only revisits a large part of the history of painting, but produces a new pictorial occurrence, irreducible to the painting. However, if the painting, already there, only awaits the painter’s eye, however mechanical, it is only placed on the video screen at the end of a series of operations reminiscent of the painting’s journey through the studios of yesteryear”. Jean Marc Huitorel Painter and video artist, he has exhibited at the Biennale of Contemporary Art in Venice (2005), Istanbul (2003) and the Whitney museum, NY (2002) and recently at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (2008).
