Biography

Moussa Sarr, born in Ajaccio in 1984, studied at the Beaux-Arts de Toulon, then at Le Fresnoy (2012). His work was selected for the FIAC 2010, as part of the Cinéphémère program of the Fondation Ricard. In 2011, he was invited by the BJCEM (Biennale des Jeunes Créateurs de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée), Thessalonica, Greece. In 2012, his videos were shown at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. In 2013, he takes part in the group show ” Mirages d’Orient” at the Collection Lambert in Avignon. In 2015, his work is shown at the Photomuseum winterthur (Zurich). Winner of the Prix Mécènes du Sud (Marseille) in 2012, he was also a finalist for the Prix Meurice pour l’art contemporain in 2016. Today, his work is part of prestigious collections such as the Centre Pompidou (Paris), the Maison Européenne de la Photographie (Paris), the FNAC – Fond National d’Art Contemporain (Paris), the Collection Lambert (Avignon) and the Collection François Pinault.
