Biography

Mathieu Lucas is an architect born in Rennes in 1989. After graduating from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Versailles in 2012, he worked for several years at Bureau Bas Smets in Brussels, where he collaborated on major development projects and territorial studies in France and abroad, forging a strong sensitivity to landscape and cartography. Today, he works in Paris on the design of major public spaces for the BASE agency, while developing his personal practice.
In Rome, Mathieu Lucas wishes to explore the ways in which living organisms, natural cycles and climatic processes are represented in the garden and the wider environment, in order to imagine and envisage new forms of cohabitation between man and the environment.
