Katinka Bock

Occupation: Visual artist Born in Frankfurt am Main in 1976, Katinka Bock is a graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Berlin and the École nationale des beaux-arts de Lyon (2005/2006), and lives and works between Paris and Berlin. Katinka Bock is interested in the representation and choreography of a cultural system or social group. Katinka Bock has already produced a significant body of work, exhibiting in France, Germany, the Netherlands and the United States. She links the purely formal aspects of territory with sociological and political considerations. She is particularly interested in closed groups and their conception of the world. Her Roman project focuses on the temporary and spatial strata of the city of Rome, and on the city’s relationship with water: Rome’s many fountains, but also and above all its small public fountains, known as nasoni.
