Biography

Emmanuel Giraud
Period: 2008-2009
Profession: Culinary Arts Artist, writer and journalist. A graduate of the Studio National des Arts Contemporains du Fresnoy (Tourcoing), former journalist and columnist for France Culture, Emmanuel Giraud contributes to various print magazines (
G-Mag ,
Régal ,
Les Cahiers de la gastronomie …) and publishes texts in the magazines
All ,
Dorade and
Edwarda . In his quest for the beautiful, the good, the fatty, the juicy, the smoky, the crisp and the voluptuous, he explores the theme of culinary memory through performances, video and sound installations. During his stay at the Académie de France à Rome – Villa Médicis, he recreated the extravagant Festin de Trimalchion (in “Le Satyricon”, Petronius) in a contemporary, digestible and uncluttered version… He has published
L’Amer , published by Argol (2011),
L’Anthologie fabuleuse, fallacieuse et faceétieuse du pâté en croûte , published by Alternatives (2012),
L’Excès , published by Épure (2013).
