Profession: Composer Born in Strasbourg in 1973, Claire-Mélanie Sinnhuber is a Franco-Swiss national. After studying flute with Patrice Bocquillon, she went on to study composition with Sergio Ortega, Allain Gaussin, Ivan Fedele, Philippe Leroux and Frédéric Durieux. She is a graduate of the Paris Conservatoire, and attended the annual composition and new technologies course at IRCAM. Her music is performed in France and abroad, by ensembles such as Aleph, Accroche Note, Contrechamps, Court-Circuit, Hic et Nunc, l’Instant Donné, Insomnio, Multilatérale, le nouvel ensemble Moderne, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony orchestra, Vortex, IRCAM, Musica, Manca, Abbaye de Royaumont, Forum Neues Musiktheater, Gaudeamus, MaerzMusik, Ars Musica, Why Note, Suntory Summer Festival. She was awarded the Francis and Mica Salabert prize in 2006, and the SACEM Georges Enesco composition prize in 2007. She was a laureate at Villa Kujoyama in 2008 and is a resident at Villa Médicis from April 2010 to October 2011. Her music is published by Jobert. Her project at Villa Médicis is to write a chamber opera.

His music is characterized by a reduction of sound material from
the articulation of noisy sounds and pitches, with a predilection for
transparent, chiselled textures.
Tocar
Her singular relationship with sound leads her to research the possibilities
instrumental, through in-depth work with performers and
instruments. This constant confrontation with the reality of sound and the
instrumental gesture feeds her writing in depth.

His music is often permeated by a kind of machine, at once
sophisticated and precarious, whose cogs turn, more often than not empty.
