This book approaches Agnès Varda’s photographic work from a new angle, that of the essential place occupied by the courtyard-atelier on rue Daguerre. It was in this living and creative space that Varda’s artists and creators met and wrote the grammar of her art. Readers will discover a still little-known side of Varda’s work, in which documentary and fiction mingle, in a mode as free as it is experimental, as she photographs and films the streets of Paris.
