For one evening only, Nuit Blanche invites you to immerse yourself in the vitality of contemporary creation, with a program that celebrates the plurality of artistic forms, including performances, readings, concerts, installations and screenings.
A nocturnal rendezvous for contemporary art, Nuit Blanche returns to Villa Medici on Thursday November 27 to showcase the work of the sixteen residents in residence at the Académie de France in Rome, as well as resident and guest artists.
Conceived as a free stroll through the historic building and gardens of the Villa Medici, the Nuit Blanche unveils certain private spaces. In the darkness of the garden, in the bend of an alley or behind a door of the palace, visitors are invited to encounter the works that have inhabited the premises for centuries or for one night, in a spirit of dialogue between secular heritage and contemporary creation.
The Académie de France à Rome – Villa Médicis is an artist residency, multidisciplinary art center and heritage site inherited from the Renaissance. Every year, it welcomes more than 70 artists, creators, authors and researchers for stays of varying lengths, including 16 residents in residence for a year.
Selected by competition, the residents for the year 2025-2026 represent eight artistic disciplines and eight nationalities. They were selected by a jury through an annual competition open to established French-speaking artists, authors and researchers, regardless of nationality. Their residency at Villa Médicis began in September 2025 and will end in August 2026.
