For her new, sixth album, Barbara Carlotti paid tribute to Corsica, where her father’s family hails from, by covering and adapting songs she has listened to and enjoyed since childhood.
Among the eleven songs and covers she has selected, the hit created by Tino Rossi in 1934, “Corse, île d’amour”, gives the album its name. But it’s the entire repertoire of Corsican variété from the 60s and 70s, the songs of an island to which she is deeply attached, that Barbara Carlotti pays tribute to in this album.
