Tohé Commaret (1992, France) is a Franco-Chilean artist and filmmaker. Trained at the Beaux-Arts de Paris and Le Fresnoy. Her work has been shown at international festivals such as the Berlinale and Locarno, as well as at institutions including the Centre Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo and Fondation Pernod Ricard. She recently exhibited at MMK Frankfurt, where she was awarded the Ponto Prize 2026, and is the winner of the Dorothea von Stetten Prize at Kunstmuseum Bonn. Upcoming exhibitions include solo shows at Spike Island (Bristol) and Soft Gallery (London). Her work is also part of public collections such as the Musée d’art Moderne in Paris, and the MAC VAL.
Tohé Commaret’s residency project revolves around a feature-length film she is currently researching, set between Chile and France, like two disjointed spaces she is seeking to bring into dialogue. Between the Atacama and the city, the film explores what connects on the inside: copper, hidden networks, and lives we’d rather not see. Through female figures, from Andean cholitas to young women from immigrant families in the Paris suburbs, the film sketches parallel trajectories, lives that don’t seem destined to intersect.

Created in 2018 by the Occitanie Region in partnership with the French Academy in Rome - Villa Medici, the Price Occitanie - Medici dedicated to young contemporary creation aims to develop the international influence of talent from Occitanie by welcoming them to the Villa Medici for a research and creative stay of several months. Each year, the price attracts around a hundred candidates - visual and visual artists - eager to take advantage of the opportunity offered by a residency at one of Europe's most emblematic art centers, in contact with other artists from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds. Each year, the winner of the Price Occitanie - Medici is selected on the basis of an application and an audition of the shortlisted candidates, each of whom presents his or her project to a jury made up of representatives of the Region, the Director of Villa Medici and associated experts.
