Rebeka Warrior

Rebeka Warrior, born in France in 1978, is an author, composer and performer. She has been making music for over 15 years as part of three duos: Mansfield.TYA (with Carla Pallone), Sexy Sushi (with College), KOMPROMAT (with Vitalic).
A multi-instrumentalist singer, she has also been mixing and producing solo for several years, performing both in France and internationally.
In 2020, Rebeka Warrior co-founded WARRIORECORDS (label, parties, recording studio, creation, distribution and artistic promotion, etc.).

In residence at Villa Médicis, Rebeka Warrior will be developing a writing project. “Two publishers have asked me to write a book. Up until now, I’d turned down proposals for a book because I was happy writing songs. But one morning, or perhaps one night, by a lake …. I’d had enough, I felt like saying “literature has driven me to vice”.
Marcus Aurelius inspired me to take LSD in the Ecuadorian forest and The Sufferings of Young Werther drove me to divorce my wife.
Witchcraft? Manipulation? Misinterpretation?
I’ve tried to start writing in Paris, at home, but everyday life pollutes my head and I systematically go back to singing behind my synthesizer.
I need peace and quiet, solitude and time to tell my story. I’ve got big files”.
