Practical Information:
Location: Grandes Galeries, Atelier del Bosco

An exhibition of approximately one hundred works—drawings, paintings, and lithographs—showcasing Robert Guinan’s artistic output, with a particular focus on the period when his work centered on observing and depicting life on the outskirts of American cities. “With great talent and sensitivity, Robert Guinan paints, in a unique and deeply moving way, the America of the marginalized—on the fringes of prosperity —and the ever-changing major cities that are destroying their architectural heritage, abandoning their roots, and welcoming new immigrants from all walks of life.”

Richard Peduzzi, director of the French Academy in Rome, has long been fascinated by and taken an interest in this artist’s work, which led him to invite the American artist—still relatively unknown to the general public—to exhibit in the galleries of the Villa Medici. All those who, for more than thirty years, have been passionate about and have admired this work, warmly thank the director of the French Academy in Rome, as well as his entire team, for welcoming with such enthusiasm this great painter, who, I hope, will be a revelation to the Roman public and all other visitors.” Albert Loeb
