French artist Aja will be arriving in early 2024 with the first track from her new EP, Ajasphère vol II. which she will be playing for the first time as part of her residency at the Villa Médicis. Since moving to Morocco, Aja has taken the time to do what she does best: research and experimentation in the quest for the perfect sound. Field recording, sampling, texturing and plug-in research ad infinitum. Her debut solo EP Dune Solitaire, released in 2019, paved the way for a more ambient sound, before she releases Ajasphère in 2021. “Aja” being her artist name, and “sphere” representing her encompassing vision that guides her search for a sound capable of telling a story, of setting a context.

Clémence Quélennec
Clémence Quélennec (France, 1991) is a music producer. After 8 years touring with the French rock band La Femme, Clémence decided to move to Morocco. She spent 4 years there, recharging her batteries in nature and reconnecting with herself, discovering Ableton, composing an EP (Dune Solitaire released in 2019) with her computer, her keyboard and the songs of nature. Inspired by this new environment, she is developing an ambient project that she sees as an artistic ecosystem in its own right: Ajasphère. She composes around twenty atmospheric, hypnotic tracks, which she releases every new and full moon.
