with the Institut français de la mode and DEFI

The French Academy in Rome – Villa Medici, the Institut Français de la Mode (IFM) and DEFI (Comité de développement et de promotion de l’habillement) have joined forces to create a unique residency program for fashion professionals, in association with the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode and with the support of the French Ministry of Culture.

Each year, this new residency enables 2 fashion designers to benefit from a privileged setting to develop their work, enrich their inspiration and structure their project in a dynamic of research and exchange.

Winners receive a grant, as well as research time at the Villa Medici in Rome and production time at the IFM in Paris, accompanied by the various teams.
