"A la Surface" Exhibition-Installation: Mirjam Fruttiger, Raphaël Thierry, Jérôme Combier

Nuit Blanche in Rome: A set designer, a visual artist, and a composer come together “on the surface” for an installation exhibition at the Villa Medici as part of Nuit Blanche. Mirjam Fruttiger explores the concept of “in-between”: moments and places where boundaries and contours tremble and vanish. Objects and bodies, caught in a continuous movement, influence one another, transform, and respond to one another. Raphaël Thierry seeks traces of the body within matter: when light passes through them, grains of sand and charcoal dust reveal fleeting, uncertain apparitions. A world of shadows, sometimes ephemeral, as fragile as memories. A soundscape created by Jérôme Combier accompanies their installations, drawing sounds from their respective worlds.
