Medici Residency with the Lagardère Foundation

Literature

Biography

Thomas Flahaut (France, 1991) is an author. His novels are published by Editions de l’Olivier: Ostwald, 2017 and Les Nuits d’été 2020.

Project

During his residency at Villa Medici, Thomas Flahaut will begin the research phase of a book combining archaeology and climate catastrophe. By meeting archaeologists, visiting urban construction sites and assiduously surveying the city, he will build up a treasure trove of images. This research, the prelude to a future novel, will take the form of a notebook. And this notebook will be read as a self-contained collection.

Medici Residency

with the Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation

As part of a partnership with the Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation initiated in 2014, three Lagardère Foundation grant winners (of any nationality, age and discipline) are selected each year to spend a one- to four-week residency at Villa Medici to develop a specific research or creative project.
