Biography

Thomas Conchou (b. 1989, France) is the director of the La Ferme du Buisson Contemporary Art Center in Noisiel, Île-de-France. Involved in various art initiatives in social contexts, he develops an interdependent and collaborative curatorial practice, notably within the Société des Nouveaux Commanditaires, for which he serves as a mediator-producer. Since 2022, he has been editing The Master’s Clock, an editorial platform on the politics of time. In 2025, he collaborated with the MAH Museum of Art and History in Geneva, where he presented a year-long program of events and performances centered on chronopolitics. He is a member of the acquisitions committee for the Regional Contemporary Art Fund of Brittany.

Project

His residency project continues his exploration of chronopolitics, understood as critical approaches to conceptions of temporality inherited from Western modernity. Drawing on editorial work related to the online platform The Master’s Clock, he analyzes alternative models of understanding time and their influence on the artistic productions of contemporary artists, in preparation for an exhibition titled “4:45 p.m.,” inspired by the attempted attack attributed to the French anarchist Martial Bourdin against the Royal Observatory Greenwich, seen as the threshold of imperial power embodied in the “prime meridian.”
