Born in Paris in 1982, Stéphane Ashpool grew up between basketball, dance and sculpture, inheriting a taste for movement and materials. Closely linked to music and partying. Founder of the Pain O Chokolat collective, then of the Pigalle boutique, he sketches out a singular, committed and colorful fashion, which has been on the official catwalk calendar since 2010. Winner of the Grand Prix de l’ANDAM in 2015, he collaborates with Chanel Métier d’Art and Missoni, creating projects where sport, art and urbanism meet, such as the Nike Pigalle basketball court. He is dressing the French team for the 2024 Olympics and preparing for those of Milan-Cortina 2026. His world is in perpetual motion.
Prêt à teindre aims to create an innovative approach to color, applied to textiles and surfaces, while questioning its symbolic, technical and environmental dimensions. The research has two focuses: documentation on the history, techniques and uses of color, fed by exchanges with craftsmen and experts; and the development of an innovative coloring system, designed for garments and other surfaces. In a highly polluting textile industry, the ambition is to design reasoned methods. After the residency, the aim is to present this work for the summer of 2026, after the Olympic Games in Milan – Cortina.
