Maxim Cain

Maxim Cain is a comic strip artist and shepherd in the Ariege Pyrenees. He has been published in the magazine Bento (Prix de la bande dessinée alternative, Angoulême 2022) and, with Léo Duquesne, in the fortnightly La Disparition, publishes the bittersweet strips La mer est calme comme un lac. Today, he’s working on Démontagner, a pastoral tale somewhere between testimony and fiction, recounting his final season on the Mont Roche mountain pasture. The book will be published by Actes Sud.
