After studying political and ethical philosophy at the Sorbonne and the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences sociales (EHESS), Léa Chauvel-Lévy is director of the LVMH Métiers d’Art residencies, publication director and independent curator. She is also a writer, with a first novel, Simone, published by Editions de l’Observatoire in August 2021. Her second novel will be published in February 2024 by Editions JCLattès. Her first documentary for France TV, on Botticelli’s Birth of Venus in popular culture, will be broadcast shortly.
Léa Chauvel-Lévy is preparing her second novel, to be published by Editions JCLattès in 2024. It deals with filiation and paternity, seen through the eyes of a lost but determined woman. Following a traumatic event, the narrator is led to question her origins. This novel, “Une demande folle”, is a plunge into the heart of a matrix, that of a woman approaching forty who understands everything about her childhood. She examines her relationship with her father and this traumatic event, and reconnects with him, even if it means slipping into borderline states.
