The Académie des Traces aims to contribute to a better understanding of the major societal challenge represented by the colonial collections held by museums in the West, which are inextricably linked to a plurality of memories that are always sensitive and often painful. The Académie des Traces proposes to discuss the different areas of museum work related to colonial collections: provenance research, restitution, exhibition, artistic creation and mediation, as well as the politics of collection and archive genesis.
