Choreography

Biography

Georges Labbat (1997, France) is a multidisciplinary artist trained in contemporary dance at the Paris Conservatory and P.A.R.T.S. His choreographic work explores how ideas and fiction can be expressed through movement. At the same time, he is developing a visual practice centered on sculpture, as well as an expanding body of work in video and film. In 2022, he created Self/Unnamed, followed by WHIP in 2024, which he adapted into a solo piece in 2025. He is currently writing his first short film, Lacrymal (2027), developing his next piece, Camélias ( 2027), and a series of experimental films in collaboration with Lou Rambert Preiss.

Project

Her residency project is dedicated to her upcoming work, Camélias. This musical and choreographic piece explores the relationship between two characters at the crossroads of eras and genres. Drawing on cinema and literature, the work traces the sequence of their encounters. The residency will be dedicated to writing the texts (spoken, sung, or projected), gathering material in preparation for the on-stage residencies, and conducting initial musical research with composer Paul J.F. Fleury.
