Villa Medici presents the Italian premiere of the documentary The Snow Pantherby Marie Amiguet and Vincent Munier, produced by Paprika Films and Kobalann productions. Released in 2021, this documentary has already won the Prix Lumières 2022 and the César for best documentary film in 2022.
Synopsis :
In the heart of the Tibetan highlands, photographer Vincent Munier leads writer Sylvain Tesson on a quest for the snow leopard.
He introduces Tesson to the delicate art of stalking, reading tracks and the patience needed to catch a glimpse of the beasts.
As the two men traverse the peaks inhabited by invisible presences, they weave a dialogue about our place among living beings and celebrate the beauty of the world.

in harmony with other living beings. He founded Kobalann productions in 2010 and
is the author of a dozen books, including Solitudes, Arctique and Tibet, minéral animal.

Marie Amiguet
Trained as a biologist, Marie Amiguet holds a Master’s degree in wildlife cinema from the IFFCAM. She worked with Jean-Michel Bertrand on La Vallée des loups (The Valley of the Wolves ), and then directed Avec
les loups, a portrait of the filmmaker.
In 2017, she met Vincent Munier, with whom she signed Le Silence des bêtes, a protest
against lynx poaching. She then embarked on an adventure to Tibet to film the meeting
of the writer and photographer.
