Colloquium Retour à la Villa: Hervé Guibert d’hier à aujourd’hui

To mark the thirtieth anniversary ofHervé Guibert ‘s death (December 27, 1991), this international colloquium looks back at the life of the writer, photographer, filmmaker and journalist who was a resident at the Villa Medici from 1987 to 1989.
Hervé Guibert, whose work is still the subject of much attention today, both in academic circles and among many young writers for whom he remains an essential reference of the late 20th century, will be celebrated throughout the year (special features in the press, documentary on Arte in December, symposia).
More specifically, this symposium will examine his work and legacy, and return to the writer’s passion for Italy: Rome, the island of Elba, but also Florence and Bagheria, where he admired the Villa des monstres.
