As part of the cultural program around the exhibition Orient-Express: itineraries of a modern mythexhibition, which explores train travel as a place of possibilities, Villa Medici is organizing a bilingual writing workshop led in French by Anne Reverseau and in Italian by Marco Giovenale from Centro Scritture.

This writing workshop offers a poetic and literary exploration of train travel, the theme at the heart of the exhibition ORIENT-EXPRESS & Cie: itinéraire d’un mythe moderne.

After a reading of poetic texts, immersing visitors in the imaginary world of the train and the carriage, Anne Reverseau and Marco Giovenale lead two workshops, one in French, the other in Italian.
The two groups “embark” collectively for a guided writing session, aimed at exploring memories of train journeys, as well as the perceptions and emotions of the traveler.
Finally, the French- and Italian-speaking groups come together for a bilingual presentation and discussion of each other’s creations.

Participants can write in a notebook or on a sheet of paper, but also on their personal computer or cell phone.
