Art Club #5 Bruna Esposito

Oro Colato – VM is a new version of the work of the same name by Bruna Esposito (Rome, 1960; lives and works in Rome) in 2014. The performance, interpreted by the author, includes the participation of a second performer. In the case of Villa Médicis, Muriel Mayette-Holtz is invited by the artist to read a passage from the play Auschwitz et après by Charlotte Delbo (Les éditions de minuit, Paris, 1965), a French-born writer who witnessed the tragedy of Auschwitz. The performance takes place in the Villa’s gardens and revolves around a hypothermic golden blanket – a medical support used to thermally stabilize people in case of emergency – which, at the end of the action, is placed on a structure hung between two trees, like a hammock intended to accommodate what has happened for a few days.
