19.00 Art Club #29 Arcangelo Sassolino
Arcangelo Sassolino (born 1967 in Vicenza, Italy, where he lives and works) researches matter – organic and inorganic substances, industrial materials such as metals, glass and cement – and investigates its physical properties, creating mechanical structures in which the chosen elements reach extreme limits of speed, friction, gravity, heat and pressure.
Through these processes, which often have a strong visual and emotional impact, the artist proposes a reflection linked to the sensitive sphere of the individual (chance, caducity, loss of control, unpredictability, danger, failure) of which the works are the allegory. Some of these works have been specifically selected by Sassolino for his intervention at Villa Medici, which also marks his return to the Roman exhibition scene.
