Martin Creed is one of the most emblematic figures on the British creative scene, having won the Turner Prize in 2001 and composed Work No. 1197, the bell that opened the London Olympics in 2012. At Villa Medici, he will be presenting a performance that dialogues with the historical context of the site and bears witness to his visual and musical creativity.
Here, Martin Creed (Wakefield, 1968; lives and works in London) presents a performance combining text, sound and video projections, in a completely unpredictable, improvisation-based sequence. The action, which uses the Grand Salon as a stage, testifies to his ability to be both visual artist and musician.
