Collaboration between artists is an experiment with sometimes surprising results, comparable to those that occur in nature during a graft, an emblematic junction between science and experience, precision and imponderability. Art Club interprets this phenomenon. On this occasion, artists of different generations, cultures and languages meet as original, sometimes unexpected witnesses to the creative dialogue that has long brought them into mutual harmony. The result is Greffes, the fruit of their mutual esteem and professional and emotional collegiality, in an interplay of intellectual and visual references underlying the artistic project on show today.

The artistic itinerary begins at the entrance to the Villa, where on the left is the “petrified forest” Untitled (URANIA), 2017 by Nicola Pecoraro (Roma, 1973; lives and works in Rome and Vienna) and Fabio Quaranta (Rome, 1977 ; lives and works in Milan and Venice), while in the center face each other the two volumes Senza titolo (X5m4mjB-1-[aaafff], 2017) by Arthur Fouray (Paris, 1990; lives and works in Paris) and Christophe de Rohan Chabot (Paris, 1986; lives and works in Paris and Berlin).

The cosmic visions described in the video Valaam, 2017 by Ciprian Mureşan (Dej, 1977; lives and works in Cluj) and Lucian Indrei (Bistriţa, 1983; lives and works in Cluj) appear on a wall of the Citerne where they dialogue, in a corner, with the pictorial visions(Mito epico tra materia e antimateria, 2015; Visioni da Hubble. Costellazioni 2013-14) by Alberto Di Fabio (Avezzano, 1966; lives and works in Rome and New York) and photography(Gates of heaven, 2017) by Indrei.

The performance We are synchronized, now and forever, 2017 by Gabriele De Santis (Rome, 1983; lives and works in Rome) enlivens the loggia near the Atelier de Balthus, responding to the Progetto per un monumento allo scarafaggio, 1994-2017 by Felice Levini (Rome, 1956; lives and works in Rome) which is located there.

The Balthus space houses the picturo-plastic intervention Nothing from nothing, 2017 / Ayam, 2017 by Marco Basta (Milan, 1985; lives and works in Milan) and Lupo Borgonovo (Milan, 1985; lives and works in Milan, while in the Studiolo is the ready-made by Edgars Gluhovs (Riga, 1980; lives and works in Berlin) and Timothy Furey (Cork, 1981; lives and works in Cork), Honey From A Weed, 2017 / Untitled 3, 2017; in the background we hear the sonorousUntitled (2017) by Landon Metz (Phoenix, 1985; lives and works in New York).

In Gypsothèque, prints by Alfredo Aceto (Turin, 1991; lives and works in Lausanne) and Achraf Touloub (Casablanca, 1986; lives and works in Paris), Cappa, 2017 (3 elements), the stone and paper composition by Mohamed Namou (Oran, 1987; lives and works in Paris) and Touloub, Untitled, 2017, as well as another sound Untitled by Metz, are mixed together.

Masks, 2017 by Lise Stoufflet (Châtenay-Malabry; lives and works in Paris) and Romain Vicari (Paris, 1990; lives and works in Paris) shine on the figures of the Niobides group, and the installation Interstellar static, 2010 / Untitled 2, 2017 by Davide Bertocchi (Modena, 1969; lives and works in Paris) and Samon Takahashi (1970; lives and works in Paris) has found a home in the Glacière, where we discover another Untitled by Metz.
