The French Academy in Rome – Villa Medici the oldest French residence abroad. Its name has been inextricably linked with the European history of the arts and knowledge since the 17th century, and the place that houses it, the Villa Medici, has fascinated visitors since Antiquity. A national public institution of the French Ministry of Culture, today it is a laboratory for contemporary creation and art-historical research, at the confluence of disciplines. Its eclectic and demanding programming is aimed at a wide audience; its residency programs enable numerous artists, authors and researchers to work and create at the Villa Medici every year; and its rich heritage continues to be studied, restored and shared with as many people as possible. This ambition is achieved on a daily basis thanks to the patrons and partners – companies and individuals – who support the Académie de France à Rome – Villa Medici and contribute to its history. This page is dedicated to them, to acknowledge and thank them for their commitment. Would you like to support Villa Medici?
