Biography
Noël Hallé, born September 2, 1711 in Paris and died June 5, 1781 in the same city, was a French painter and engraver. He was a student at the Académie Royale de peinture et de sculpture in 1734 and fellow at the Académie de France in Rome from 1737. He became interim director of this institution in 1775, to ensure the transition between the departure of Charles-Joseph Natoire and the arrival of Joseph-Marie Vien.
