Villa Medici and the musée d’Orsay have joined forces to create the Album de la Villa, a project spearheaded by Marie Robert, head curator of photography and cinema at the musée d’Orsay, and initiated by Sam Stourdzé.
This participatory album takes you behind the scenes of Villa Medici from the point of view of those who have lived there and brought it to life over the past two centuries: boarders, residents, guests, staff, passengers for a night or a lifetime…
Through the photographic holdings of the Établissement public des musées d’Orsay et de l’Orangerie, whose collections and archives were used to enrich the Album, but also thanks to contributions from all and sundry, discover residents at work or celebrating Carnival, intimate testimonies or never-before-seen images of the great and small events of the Villa Médicis!
This participatory album invites you to discover the images that tell the story of Villa Medici and its inhabitants. Have you lived, worked or created here? Take part in the Villa Album by uploading your photos and those of your friends and family!
