Born in 1989 in Paris, Alice Dusapin is an independent publisher and researcher.

Since 2017, she has been researching the American physicist, publisher, artist and poet Bern Porter (1911-2004). Currently, she’s working on the first monograph of the video artist and performer Wolfgang Stoerchle (1944-1976), to be published in autumn 2020.

Co-founder and co-director of the magazine Octopus Notes, she also co-directs the Ampersand cooperative structure in Lisbon.

For all her work, Alice Dusapin has benefited from the support of the CNAP for research in theory and art criticism and from the support of the Jan Michalski Foundation for Writing and Literature. She has also been the recipient in January 2020 of a research grant from the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles.

The project she is carrying out at the Villa Medici is part of this continuity and focuses on Bern Porter’s relationship with the Italian art scene since 1972 through the study of various archives related to visual and sound poetry.
