Nine Jewelled Deer is an opera in development led by vocalist and improviser Ganavya Doraiswamy, composer Sivan Eldar, and director Peter Sellars.

For their first musical lab, the team unites at the Villa Medici with three soloists: Mrudangam artist Rajna Swaminathan, cellist Severine Ballon, and computer music designer Augustin Muller.

The week-long lab will be followed by a public presentation.
