On the 29th, 30th of April and 1st of May, visitors may freely discover the apartment of Cardinal Ferdinando de’ Medici and one of the adjoining historic room refurbished by India Mahdavi, architect, designer and leading scenographer.

As part of the second chapter of the project Reenchanting the Villa Medici, the French Academy in Rome is opening its doors to reveal its historic rooms, which have been refurbished under the artistic direction of the architect, designer and scenographer India Mahdavi.

India Mahdavi offers a new interpretation of this rooms, in which geometries and colors occupy a prominent place and will contribute renewing the spirit of the place thanks to a new layout, including exceptional furniture designed especially for Villa Medici.

This operation is being carried out in collaboration with the Mobilier national, a leading centre of creation and heritage since Louis XIV, and with the support of the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation, which has been a patron of the arts and crafts for over 20 years.
