AWA, the new COPACABANON creation, is an autonomous cabin designed for a remote location. It is the result of a close collaboration between architects, craftspeople and engineers. AWA is a wooden cabin designed by the firm Nelson Wilmotte Architectes, drawing its inspiration from traditional Japanese constructions with clean lines.
The cabin is perched in the middle of the canopy of orange trees, overlooking the gardens of the Villa Medici, and gives a wide view of the bell towers of Rome.
Mini-architecture designed in a sustainable and ecological way, AWA is a home of 8 m², bringing together all the modern comforts of a structure, composed of a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and controlled thanks to the autonomous management interface E-BELLULE.

About Nelson Wilmotte Architectes x Copacabanon x E-Bellule
A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture in Paris, Nelson Wilmotte has acquired his experience in international firms, including that of Steven Holl of New York. In 2012, Nelson Wilmotte met Jérémy Dumont-Fillon, a third-generation chalet builder, with whom he founded COPACABANON. Their ambition is twofold: to bring architecture to the garden by promoting the excellence of the French wood industry.
As part of a pilot project, COPACABANON has developed a fully autonomous cabin, equipped with all modern comforts and located in a remote environment, without networks or resources. The entire project led to the development of the E-BELLULE solution, whose objective is to make connected and intelligent isolated autonomous habitats by offering an interface centralising all the elements of control, management and maintenance of the structure to control its eco-management as well as its longevity.
