Her project at the Villa Medici

During her residency at Villa Medici, Agathe de Bailliencourt will consult Carlo Scarpa’s archives held at the MAXXI museum and talk with art historians and experts on Venetian glass. Based on these documents and interviews, the goal of this research is to create a series of unique glass works, transposing the artistic heritage that Scarpa and other artists brought to life in their time into a contemporary context that questions notions of loss of control, collapse, and transformation.
