On April 17th, in collaboration with NABA, Olivier Saillard, fashion historian, in dialogue with Luigi Piccolo, director of the Sartoria Farani, will offer a conference in the Grand Salon of the Villa Medici on the body and the silhouettes of fashion and their influence on designers and stylists throughout history.

The narrative power of clothes and costumes, the fashion heritage and its influence on contemporary designers: are the core topics of “Racconti di moda, costumi e archivi”. The talk series by MA in Fashion and Costume Design of the NABA Rome campus, is moderated by Clara Tosi Pamphili (architect, applied arts historian and critic, and NABA lecturer).

Thanks to Olivier Saillard, the audience will explore the issue of modifications of bodies and mannequins in the different historical eras. Then, the talk will deepen the study of silhouettes and show how they influenced the work of designers over time.
