Villa Medici Festival des Cabanes

Every year, the French Academy in Rome organizes the Villa Medici Festival des Cabanes where architects, artists and researchers are invited to occupy the historic gardens of the Villa Medici throughout the summer.

The Festival invites architects, artists and researchers to make use of the historic gardens of Villa Medici, a setting with a remarkable arboreal heritage, the design of which was conceived by Ferdinando de Medici at the end of the 16th century.

Transient installations, micro-architectures, pavilions: several original creations of “cabins” take place throughout the summer in the gardens of Villa Medici, a place of investigation and experimentation where gardeners, architects, artists and thinkers meet.
