On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, on Sunday September 26th, 2021, the French Academy in Rome – Villa Medici will open a part of its Renaissance gardens and its Grand Salon to offer the public a journey through the artistic and patrimonial history of the Villa.
Visitors will be free to wander through the photographic exhibition “Toiletpaper & Martin Parr”, currently on display in part of the Villa’s gardens, admire the breathtaking panorama of the city from the Belvedere, and then join the Piazzale (the Villa’s main courtyard) to meet the guides who will present the history of the place and offer an explanatory focus on the building’s majestic interior façade. The free visit will end with the Grand Salon, the central place of the Villa’s activity, richly decorated and with a complex history.
